Esther's Music Talk | Zedd (True Colours Album 2015)

Being born and raised in the Kuala Lumpur city, I believe most of us will have to spend our time stuck in a massive, insane, unavoidable traffic jam. While a lot people choose to be grumpy, releasing all sorts of profanities along the road, I on the other hand choose to embrace it by using music. Music has always been in my life, my soul and my blood since I was born. I could not imagine a world without music.

This world has always been harsh and cruel to its people. Like mentioned in The Fault in our Stars by John Green, the world is not a wish-granting factory. No matter what we are going through; ups or downs, music marks the undebatable, ultimate language to mend our broken hearts and to uplift our souls.

Good music will always be able to send chills down your spine everytime you listen to it. Apart from Jay Chou songs which is already one of my favourites, I really admire songs from Russian-German DJ, Anton Zaslavski, better known as Zedd. His production normally focuses on Electronic Dance Music (EDM).

I remember the first ever song by Zedd that grabbed my attention. It is the Clarity featuring Foxes.

The first time I heard this song, it feels so calm and I could feel the world stood still in silence. I have tried listening this song in the middle of the night and it gives me a cool feeling that I am standing right beyond the universe, leaving my worries behind. This is how I started to notice Zedd.

After Clarity, there are also several EDM songs that are absolutely my favourites.

"Spectrum featuring Matthew Koma"

"Find you featuring Matthew Koma & Miriam Bryant"

Zedd's songs have also introduced me to Matthew Koma, a very talented young singer and songwriter. I have always loved his energetic feminine voice. Not to mention that he has got a macho look too.

Nah..Matthew Koma. Photo credits to Google Image.

So for this year, Zedd has a new studio album called True Colours. I exploded in excitement when one of his new songs got premiered in one of my favourite radio stations, FlyFM.

"I want you to know featuring Zedd's rumoured girlfriend Selena Gomez" Awhh..so danceable and so wild !

This time, I have decided to buy his newest studio album. The price is around RM49.90 if I am not mistaken and I am super thankful to Max for helping me to get his album~

Jeng jeng jeng!!

Note : My car was completely stalled due to traffic jam. But no worries, keep calm and just listen to Zedd's songs XD

List of soundtracks from Zedd's newest album.

Apart from "I want you to know", I would personally recommend "Addicted to a Memory", "Beautiful Now", "Done with Love" and "Daisy".

For your information, "Addicted to a Memory" is written by Zedd and Matthew Koma which also features Bahari.

"Beautiful Now featuring John Bellion" I find this track so inspiring. It is such a beautiful song. Don't you guys feel the same too?

All said, I feel Zedd has done a very good job in ensuring us, his listeners, to have an awesome experience listening to his new album. I hope he will keep up his good job and produce more remarkable tracks in future.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival 2015

It is the mid-autumn festival today and so, how are you all celebrating? With family? With your bosom buddies? Or with your loved ones? Haha, as for me, this year will be different. My brother is away working in the Penang Island and my loved one is not in Kuala Lumpur too :( Although I am trying my best not to mention it, but it really feels kind of lacking without them. Sigh.

Anyway, brushing all the negativism, let me share with you how I will celebrate my mid-autumn festival. First thing to share of course is the yummy mooncakes~ Every year without fail, I will get The Baker's Cottage (麦可思) mooncakes.

Low Sugar White Lotus for my dad and Supreme Mixed Nuts for my mum.

Pearl of Prosperity for me~~ And Shanghai Pure Lotus for my brother.

I also like the pandan snowskin mooncake by The Baker's Cottage. Look how cute the Winnie the Pooh is~

My aunt has also given us a box of homemade mini mooncakes from E-tasty Bakery which consists of 5 different flavours and each mooncake comes with a yolk. I personally feel these mini mooncakes taste heavenly.

These are Purple Cane mooncakes (紫藤) which are gifts from my company. The taste is just mediocre. Just the packaging is cute wtf.

Ohh..got riddles somemore..lol

Stumbled upon Hello Kitty lantern at Leisure Mall.

Haha..Happy Mid-Autumn Festival everyone~ Wishing all my readers 家好月圆!

Esther's Food Search | Fahrenheit 600, Publika

My love for brunch will never die. As I am writing this post, my mind is fulled of hash browns, hot coffee, bacons and eggs. Regardless of poached, scrambled or sunny side-up, I feel brunch somehow will not be complete without the existence of eggs. I don't know, don't ask me why. Kind of torturing to write this with my starving stomach now :(

So, last Sunday, we went to Fahrenheit 600 in Publika for our Sunday brunch~ It was just around 12pm and the cafe was almost full with patrons. As I gazed through the menu, I found the food names rather confusing.

Err..I love NY? I love California? Have u Ever? Mrs. Healthy n Wealthy? Lol..I really need to spend some time analysing each food description and pick my choice. Quite annoying since I'm darn hungry already.

This is me, pulling myself together to choose my food =.="

As we sat down waiting for our food, it's time for selfie~

For food, we have ordered Mary Morino and Auntie Joanna's Baked Egg. I know, I know.. Just by the name itself, you won't know what we had ordered right? No worries, photo spamming ahead~

This is Mary Morino which comprises of smoked salmon, avocado and poached egg on top of the oven baked toast slices. It was my first time trying avocado and it had a creamy, buttery taste. Such combination should be very nourishing too. Ahh, what a wholesome brunch :)

#EatClean #BeHealthy

Auntie Joanna's baked egg is one of the must try foods in Fahrenheit 600. It is a plate of oven baked eggs, sausages, mushroom and onions cooked together with the Fahrenheit's signature tomato sauce and it comes with a tortilla lookalike bread for you to dip and eat. Sure enough, I think this dish is really worth a try if you are fan of baked eggs.

Food and a fake tattoo.

Hot latte with one of the signature drinks in Fahrenheit 600, the Ice Drip Coffee. If you are a fan of non or low-sugar coffee drinks such as the Americano or Espresso, you'll definitely like this Ice Drip Coffee.

We were perplexed once we were served with the Ice Drip Coffee as we were unsure what to do with the additional little bottle of soda served together with the coffee. A staff told us that we were supposed to clear our taste buds with the soda before drinking the coffee in order to enjoy each sip thoroughly. So, you may have consumed your food in between your drink. Just remember to start off your coffee with a simple sip of soda =)

Wearing my new blue denim skirt overalls from Bershka~

Yours truly <3

Esther's Food Search | Hiing Fatt Restaurant (兴发广式饭店), Ara Damansara

Last Saturday, I have joined my family for a simple dinner after visiting my aunt in Ara Damansara. My uncle then suggested a nearby Chinese restaurant in the area called Hiing Fatt Restaurant, 兴发广式饭店.

You can choose to dine in their air-conditioned branch which is just 1-2 shoplots away from their non air-conditioned branch.

The non air-conditioned branch. Ask the staffs for assistance if you want to dine in their air-conditioned branch.

Classy interior

Foods we ordered ;

Asam sliced fish

Claypot eggplant

Fried kangkung with garlic

Fried sliced pork, this is seriously GOOD. I can't stop eating this~

Fried Lala (Clam) with Chili and Egg

Stir-fried lotus with cashew nuts

Roasted pig (Siu yuk in Cantonese)

Steamed 3 variety eggs

Asam steamed black tilapia

九大簋

A complimentary dessert after our meal~

The total cost for our meal is around RM400+. I guess the price is quite reasonable as we have ordered 9 dishes with 3 of them are seafood dishes. Will definitely include Hiing Fatt as one of my favourite spots for Chinese food~

A Pie Thing | Damansara Utama, Uptown

With such gargantuan shop name, it is quite impossible to miss this cafe when you are travelling on LDP. A Pie Thing, sure enough is a place for pies..lol..so lame, ignore me.

We reached the cafe around 4.30pm, hoping to get some light refreshments before heading to our dinner. Probably 4.30pm is not considered as peak hour, we managed to secure one vacant table. Actually there is another unoccupied table at the end of the shop. But, those are higher tables with higher chairs. No matter where I go, I always have issues trying to balance myself on the higher chairs, especially with my heels on. So, without thinking twice, I chose the normal seats instead.

Basically there are two types of pies in this cafe, namely savoury pies and sweet pies. As we optioned Leonidas's Choco Latte which is already a sweet beverage, we decided to go for savoury pies this time.

Step 1 : Choose your savoury pie fillings

We picked the cheesy chicken and chicken with mushroom for our pie fillings. There are other fillings such as the pulled lamb, chilly cheese and chunky steak.

Step 2 : Choose your pie toppings.

There are 4 types of toppings for savoury pies;
a) Pie+Gravy
b) Pie+Mash+Gravy
c) Pie+Peas+Gravy
d) The Mashacre (Pie+Gravy+Peas+Mash)

The Mashacre is the ultimate combination of a,b and c~

As we are not fans of peas, we chose Pie+Gravy and Pie+Mash+Gravy.

Step 3 : Choose your drinks

Choices of drinks ranging from coffee, tea to soda. But as mentioned, we opt for Leonidas's Choco Latte instead.

Step 4 : Order completed

Collect your food tray once your number has been called.

Food is served~

Anti-clockwise from left; Leonidas's Choco Latte, Pie+Gravy with cheesy chicken filling and Pie+Mash+Gravy with chicken and mushroom filling.

As a fan of potatoes, I devoured the entire mashed potatoes together with its gravy. But all left to me now are just the pie crust and filling. I found the remaining pie too plain without any gravy and they are just too dry for my liking. I feel they should provide add-on services for the gravy so that customers could request for more gravy if they want to.

The Leonidas's Choco Latte comes with a dark chocolate stick and a bottle of warm milk. What you need to do is to unwrap the chocolate stick and stir it in the milk. Then, the chocolate will start to melt and blend to become chocolate milk/chocolate latte.

Verdict : The pie seems to be very small portion but we were actually quite full after eating. We cannot proceed to our dinner after having them. So, we went to The Gardens and bought caramel popcorn from Delectable as our supper instead~

Signing off with my OOTD~ Top and mini skirt from Kitschen, Shoes from Jin Hayari
